Aberfoyle and the trossachs including Edinburgh and a visit to the Royal yacht britannia. Me and my wife spent 5 days based at THE ROB ROY HOTEL based at Aberfoyle which was a charming little village on the edge of scotland\'s first national park Queen Elizabeth 2nd. The hotel or ranch was ameniable very basic but ok for a short visit, the food was variable and was served with efficiency by the generous polish guest workers, i say generous not in the food samples we were afforded but the fact you would be indeed lucky to find maybe one other scotsman amongst the paid workers of this establishment. I didn\'t much care for the manager a poker faced individual who had his own agenda and made it quite clear that we would have to struggle with our bags from the coach and wo betide us if we were late for dinner as we wouldn\'t get fed. I think he took exception to me reminding him that he looked like the actor ian McShane. The trips were quite interesting but we weren\'t allowed enough time in Edinburgh to do it justice and as for Stirling this was the jewel in the crown as was the short visit to the yacht which reminded me how lucky the members of the royal household to be born with a silver spoon in their mouths. The Trossachs visit was a little dull and 2 hours plus was plenty to grab yourself a meal at the only restaurant in the vicinity which was doing a roaring trade if you were lucky enough to get served. The driver was polite and friendly with a smashing sense of humour and he always made us aware how much he put himself out for the members of the coach party, we got on with most of the wrinklies save a few mostly an excellent experience apart from the oppressive warm rooms and corridors in the hotel...
