having just returned from a 5 day break to blackpool, liverpool and the lake district in the worst weather (gale force winds)inthe past 4 months,i would like to say,the hol was good value formoney and the driver(steve) was excellent.\"pontins\" our base at southport need to improve most things but \"sunrise\" arrangements were very good. iwill use them again....

just back from the lancashire canal cruise and lakes .our first ever coach holiday and probably our last !the hotel room was tiny hot and in need of a bit of paint,the hotel was on a busy main road the evening meals were inedible.the room next to us was being gutted while we were there ,so we had a nice smell of lead paint .the trips not as on our itinery ,we travelled a total on 230 miles in one day and had only one hour at lake windermere instead of two then an hour and a half at a village with SHOPS and nothing else instead of visiting another lake !The canal CRUISE was an hour on a boat eventually ,we all got on the boat only to be told that it was double booked so we had to get off and wait till it got back then they took us as an extra trip,this was sunrise error as our itinery had it on the wednesday and the drivers said tuesday .The hotel was way too far from the places we were visiting there fore we never had long enough at any stop usually just time for a coffee and snack .never visited so many shops in my life !most of the others on the trip agreed with us but a few loved shopping !If this is a typical coach holiday you can keep em ,...

Warwick Hotel Blackpool. Very nice. Needs a bit of refurbishment in rooms but they are spotless Food brilliant and staff couldn\'t do enough for you. Coach driver was very very obliging....

BE VERY WARY ABOUT USING THE TRAVEL INSURANCE SUNRISE DIRECT SELL YOU!!! My wife was taken ill on the morning of departure with sickness and diarrhoea and could not travel on 25th FEB 2010 as booked through absolutely no fault of our own. RESULT - Insurance refused to pay out and we both lost all of our money.This will be a drop in the ocean to Sunrise but a lot to lose for the retired so be vary wary of this company!!!...

Returned from Bideford Coach Tour SUNRISEDIRECT 21st Feb \'11.Location good, Hotel good, food nice. Shame about the trips. Saturday\'s Lynton/Lynmouth superb. However, Barnstable on a Sunday was horrendous. Many shops were closed, the shops that were open were between, 10-30/11am. The PANNIER Market mentioned only opens Saturdays, NOT Sundays. Therefore, would it not be better to CHANGE the half day around, or put up the price to include 2 FULL days and SWAP the days over. Being left in Barnstable for 3 hours was not good. The whole of the passengers of the coach were unanimous in this. BARNSTABLE is OK but NOT on a Sunday. So whoever organised this at Sunrise clearly had a different View!!!!!!! People need to be aware there is a lot of hanging around in Barnstable awaiting the coach return to pick you up....
